Many people have never had to arrange funeral services and we understand that most are for the most part unaware of the options available when planning funeral services. We also understand that it is an issue that few discuss. This why we commit ourselves to providing support and guidance so we may help you create a service that honors and celebrates the memory of your loved one.
A formal or informal ceremony or ritual prior to burial, a funeral service often provides a sense of closure to family and friends. We are very sensitive to each family’s beliefs and consider it when scheduling for the service. Every family is given an opportunity to have input on what they desire to happen during these services. We offer traditional services, memorial services and some customary services to try to meet your expectations at a funeral service, a casket, urn, or a picture is present. The choice of whether the casket is open or closed is up to the family.
Our professional staff are knowledgeable in veterans’ burial benefits provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. You can be confident you’ll understand what your VA burial benefits include and how to apply for them. Plus, we take great pride in providing veterans with respectful funerals and burials befitting of their service.
Normally prior to the funeral service, the visitation – also called a wake or a viewing – provides a way for friends and acquaintances to pay respects and offer condolences to the family. As with the funeral service, you may want to decide if you want an open or closed casket if one is needed. Each service can be unique in itself.
At a memorial or tribute service, a casket or urn is usually not present. A photo or some memorabilia is used to remind the gatherers of the person being remembered. A memorial service, like the funeral or visitation, gives family and friends a time to come together in your memory and celebrate your life.
This service is used for the committal of the body to the ground. The graveside service may be held at the grave site just prior to burial of a casket or urn, and usually consists of final remarks, prayers or memories. The service may occur after or in place of a funeral service. It is not necessary with burials at the Veterans Cemetery, for committal happens later.
There are many reasons someone chooses cremation. These reasons are personal and don’t have to be explained. Cremations can have all the accolades of traditional or memorial services, or they can eliminate the expense of some of these services. We also offer Direct Cremation services which start as low as $1,850. Come in and inquire of our staff of all the many options for this service. We do offer urns for those who choose this service.
